Brynn Albanese Biography

Brynn Albanese has celebrated a career spanning 38 years from California to the East Coast, Europe, Asia and South America.
​

After graduation from the Peabody Conservatory of Music, she was the Concertmaster of the Tanglewood Orchestra under Simon Rattle and Seiji Ozawa. For eight years she enjoyed playing, touring and recording for five years with both the Boston Symphony Orchestra under Ozawa and The Boston Pops under John Williams and Keith Lockhart before moving further east in 1998 to the Netherlands.

In the Netherlands, Brynn played with the Residentie Orkest of The Hague under the baton of now New York Philharmonics conductor, Jaap Van Zweeden. She traveled the span of Europe participating in various chamber music festivals and performed with orchestras. After a rich experience all around, she decided to return full circle to California in 2006 to be close to her family.

Upon returning to California, Brynn enjoyed being Concertmaster of the Monterey Symphony, Principal Second Violin of the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra under Marin Alsop and performing under Scott Yoo in the Festival Mosaic Orchestra. She almost immediately delved into a passion for World Music. She joined the Ensemble, Café Musique in 2008 and has performed all over California and in Europe. They quickly became a sensation and delighted audiences over and over again. In the spring of 2020, they officially closed their doors after fifteen wonderful years.

In 2018, she began a concert series in Cambria, California called “Cambria Concerts Unplugged”.  It is an acoustic music series at the Old Santa Rosa Chapel in Cambria, CA. The Chapel is known for its warm smooth sound and fabulous acoustics. The series is sold out more often than not, and is very fast growing. In the summer of 2021, Brynn began a collaboration with Camp Ocean Pines in Cambria, California. It has a fantastic outdoor amphitheater with a capacity of 350 people. Cambria Concerts Unplugged in the Chapel is becoming widely recognized as one of the only acoustic music series of it’s kind in the area and beyond. Cambria Concerts “Plugged” at Ocean Pines is gaining much attention and is sure to become the largest outdoor summer series on the Coast. As Founder and Artistic Director, Brynn hosts a wide variety of groups covering all genres.

Early in the pandemic period of 2020, Albanese created a mobile outdoor-indoor One-Woman-Show that she has performed over 100 concerts since April 1st, 2020. Sometimes curbside, in driveways, cul-du-sacs, medians, backyards and front yards.

​

She has also recorded four educational episodes for the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education. The series is called, “Exploring the World Through Music with Brynn Albanese.” Designed for kids of all ages as well as adults.

From 2008-2020 Brynn held the position of Concertmaster for numerous large ensembles on the Central Coast. The San Luis Obispo Symphony, Symphony of the Vines, Orchestra Novo, The Master Chorale and Opera San Luis Obispo. As of April 2020, she stepped down from these groups and is moving into the next path of her musical journey.

She has finished coursework for the International End of Life Doula Association. Brynn has joined the Death Doula team for Hospice SLO and as of May 2022, will complete coursework for the Music for Healing and Transition Program for Certification as a Therapeutic Music Practitioner. She is the founder of, Pneuma Melodies and in the fall of 2022, Brynn will be presenting to our local Hospitals, Care Centers and Memory Care Centers. Her goal is to implement regular musical programming through the hiring of onsite trained and certified therapeutic musicians as an integral part of the daily culture of our facilities. Therapeutic Music uses the science of sound as a complementary medicine to conventional allopathic medicine, providing one-on-one therapeutic music at the bedside to promote improved quality of life during treatment and the healing process."
